Your journey begins with an early morning flight from Istanbul to Izmir. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to Selçuk, where you will join your professional guide and small group for a full-day exploration of Ephesus, one of the most renowned archaeological sites in Turkey. The tour begins at the ancient city’s Magnesia Gate, from where you will walk downhill through this remarkably well-preserved Roman city. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to iconic landmarks such as the Odeon, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan, the remarkable Library of Celsus, and the Great Theatre, which once held 25,000 spectators and still hosts performances today. As you stroll through marble-paved streets, you’ll witness the grandeur of a civilization that shaped history. Next, you will visit the Temple of Artemis, once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Though only a few columns remain, the site offers a powerful glimpse into the past and its once-glorious scale. The tour continues to the serene House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be the final residence of Mary, mother of Jesus. This peaceful stone house nestled in the hills is revered by both Christians and Muslims and is a destination of pilgrimage and prayer. Finally, you will stop at the Isa Bey Mosque, an elegant 14th-century Seljuk-era mosque showcasing intricate stonework and Islamic architecture.
